Mastering the spectrum of SLP care

Welcome to my professional competency domains, where each area showcases my dedication to evidence-based practice, ethical decision-making, and culturally responsive care. My approach integrates research, clinical expertise, and client-centered values to deliver meaningful intervention across pediatric and adult populations. From formal evaluations and informal assessments to comprehensive treatment planning and implementation, you will see my commitment to clinical breadth across the full ASHA scope, including articulation, fluency, voice & resonance, receptive & expressive language, motor speech, hearing, swallowing, cognitive-communication, social communication, AAC, and counseling. This portfolio demonstrates not just skill acquisition, but thoughtful clinical reasoning and measurable outcomes for effective, individualized care.

Precision in pronunciation and linguistic development

My work in articulation is characterized by data-driven phonological intervention, achieving measurable intelligibility gains. I utilize systematic tracking, such as Excel-based accuracy logging, to ensure generalization to spontaneous conversation and integrate motor learning principles. For receptive & expressive language, I specialize in inferential comprehension and structured sentence formulation intervention, employing higher-level question scaffolding, strategic support fading for measurable independence, and visual supports to enhance processing. This approach builds comprehensive language systems, not just isolated skills.

Empowering communication through motor and cognitive mastery

In motor speech, my expertise includes differential diagnosis and motor-based treatment planning for suspected apraxia, alongside work with oral facial myofunctional disorders. I apply dynamic assessment, cueing hierarchies, and motor learning principles (like blocked vs. random practice and various feedback types), always considering bilingual needs. For cognitive-communication, I focus on functional task-based intervention tied to real-life goals, implementing executive function strategies, memory supports, and targeting functional outcomes such as medication management and conversation repair. My treatment approach ensures cognition is addressed within a practical context.

Fostering connection and emotional well-being

My social-communication interventions center on emotional regulation and problem-solving frameworks. I incorporate script training, perspective-taking scaffolds, and strategies for gradual independence, supporting autonomy rather than mere compliance. In counseling, I leverage reflective listening and validation, integrating these into therapy to address self-esteem in articulation clients, support identity and self-acceptance, and provide family communication coaching. My ability to conduct research for properly serving bilingual Spanish-speaking clients further exemplifies my commitment to culturally responsive care. I understand that communication disorders impact identity, and I respond with empathy and structured support.
